Gay and proud

Gay and proud

If I hear another person compare being gay to being a woman or being black, I think I might thump them.

How on earth are these two things in the same category?
I’ve lost track of the amount of times I’ve heard people justify the need to be politically correct by putting these groups together all this in the name of being considerate of people.

If anything I think society is bending over backwards to accommodate people’s unorthodox sexual preferences. I kind of feel sorry for gay, bisexual, transgender etc people, because they have to wear their sexual preferences on their forehead. It’s automatically their identity which is silly to me. As a heterosexual person I don’t feel the need to announce this in the way i dress, talk, walk or in the choices I make, I just am. Why do people with more explorative sexual preferences feel they need to play to stereo types?

I get the whole gay and proud movement, but seriously some folks can be so ott about it. It’s your choice of having sex, why does it have to define your whole existence? Surely you could be other things besides being gay… Imagine a hetero guy prancing about the whole place with his play boy magazine doing everything to let the whole world know he does girls… you’d think, ‘what a plank’ wouldn’t you? So why it is ok, for someone who’s gay have to be labelled as gay, can’t they just be who they are? Why do we have to label people by their sexual preferences?

Perhaps I’m being a bit insensitive, and the bottom line is that this is just how they are… but is it? There’s people who’ve come out of the closet who don’t talk, walk or dress funny, they just are.
When you’re a woman, you’re a woman, when you’re black, unless you do an MJ, you’re black, you don’t need to tell people. So if homosexuality is in the same category as these things, why do you have to announce it?

The whole thing is totally flawed, why are women treated like minorities. Surely there’s more women in the world than men, I’m sure there’s some UN stats that back this up somewhere… but why do women get grouped with the minorities of the world?

  1. Cos they are minorities in new territories ie in areas where they never really were before, fields that were predominantly dominated by men e.g. the workplace, church, positions of leadership, anything outside of the home really i guess :) .

    I love your blog baybay!

  2. thanks sweets…

honestly this issue of gay rights is getting out of control.

I don’t blame the government for wanting to stonewall applications for asylum based on homosexuality. Is that me being intolerant?
But think about it… at the moment the percentage of homosexuals is about 1 or 2 % yet the nation’s bending over backwards to cater to their needs. Imagine what’ll happen when there’s an influx of homosexual foreigners living in the country!

I could say so much about this, but i believe there’s wisdom in biting my tongue on this issue.
